Easy DIY Studded Sneakers
I love studs. People might even say I have a slight addiction. Some of my favorite shoes are my Valentino Rockstud Pumps, I always feel a little bit rock n’ roll and ladylike all at the same time! I have seen numerous studded sneaker DIYs that I have been inspired by, and when I received a fun pair of neon Keds in the mail I knew it was the perfect time to execute my inspiration. The best part is that they are customized just for me.
This DIY is extremely easy as it takes little time to do and just a few supplies are needed.
- dart awl
Uses the dart awl to make holes to fit each side of the stud. Start placing the studs along the seam going across the top of the shoe. Use this as a guide to place the studs at an even distance. Use your pliers along the shoe edges to close the back of the studs. You will need to use a screwdriver to reach and close the studs in the middle of the shoe. Make sure to push each side down with the flat part of the screwdriver so it lays flush and won’t dig into your foot.
Once you have completed your first row, follow the same path as before with as many rows as you choose. I only choose to do two rows for my sneakers.
The final product. With a little bit of time and just a few supplies you can have your own customized sneakers before you finish your favorite show! Happy studding. We’d love to see your creations. I received the Keds as a gift but the DIY was my own idea and creation.
