Shooting the ALDO “The Other Bag” Campaign

Shooting the photos for ALDO’s “The Other Bag” campaign was a blast.  The pictures turned out amazing, but there was so much happening behind the scenes to make it all happen.  Being in front of the camera is not something I do often.  I am used to styling the model(s) and being one of the ones behind the scenes to create the overall look.  After shooting for two full days, I have a new appreciation for models.  It’s hard work!

Getting some great shots with the beautiful afternoon light

We decided to highlight the modern Californian lifestyle of the woman on the move for this shoot.  Santa Monica was chosen and proved to be the perfect location.  There was so much that had to be done before we even started the shoot.  Permits had to be obtained so we could shoot all over the city, clothes and accessories pulled and the fridge stocked full of Diet Coke!

We had an amazing backdrop at the Shangri-La Hotel in Santa Monica.

We consumed at least six cheese plates during our shoot.

We got some great shots around Shangri-la’s pool.  Loving the ALDO Rise shoes.

Checking emails and keeping warm in between shots.

As with any shoot, there was a lot of standing around, adjusting the lighting, changing outfits and consuming vast amounts of caffeine.

We even made it to the airport for this shoot
