Wedding Day:: Ten Years Later

Ten years ago today, I walked down a long, long white aisle to my best friend who was waiting for me at the other end.

We made promises, said “I Do” had a great party and here we are ten years later still madly in love. There has been so much packed into that ten years. We’ve gone through many jobs, bought our first home, traveled around the world, moved to the beach, had our daughter, and moved back to SF (that’s the short version!). There has been a ton of laughter as well as some tears. We haven’t always agreed on things, but have made it a point to never go to bed angry at each other. We have grown closer than I could ever have imagined and it’s only been ten years…I can’t wait for the next ten. There is no secret to our success. We both want to be in this relationship, and work hard at it everyday. We love each other deeply and are not afraid to have uncomfortable conversations…they only bring us closer together when they are done. As I always say, demand the best and make sure you give the best in return.

Wedding week has been fun, but now it’s back to business as usual. Thank you to Julie and Kaella for contributing this week and sharing their wedding tips and expertise. It’s been fun looking back at my wedding pictures, but I have an anniversary to celebrate.
