Fall 2012 Trends:: Saks Fifth Avenue

Fall is here and I couldn’t be more excited.  Chunky sweaters, leather and chic outwear.  Here are some of the key Fall trends that I am looking forward to incorporating into my wardrobe.

LEATHER REMIX

Leather has been used for virtually all categories this season, either in black or in one of the rich, natural hues of the season.  From outerwear and jackets to tops, skirts, trousers and dresses, leather appears both all-over and as trims, patches and insets.  Look for leather sleeves as a key detail on jackets and coats.

NOVELTY DENIM

Fall colors in denim, twill, leather and coated in an array of hues from burgundy to forest green to ocean blues. Highlight novelty denim, corduroys and textured silhouettes for the season. Skinny jeans aren’t the only denim style to own this Fall.  Style and pair with a Theory blouse and blazer.

STATEMENT KNITWEAR

There is a lot of excitement about all of the interesting stitch details, from exaggerated cables and updates to the fisherman’s knit, to lacy and crochet stitches. Fur accents on knits are key and appear as trims, patches and panels to add an extra touch of luxury.

DECORATIVE FABRICATIONS

Whether for day or night, these fabrics add an incredible degree of richness to the season. They range from brocades with elements of shine to plush velvets to jacquards—either with texture or in geometric patterns.

This week I teamed up with Saks Fifth Avenue to play around with some of the upcoming trends in their SF store.  Good news for those of you who live in SF…
