Pose:: Photo-sharing App for Fashion & Shopping
With technology and social media constantly changing at an insanely fast speed, there seems to be a new app or website launching every other day. Trying to keep up can seem like a full-time job at times but I find it to be such an exciting time in fashion. I have been playing around with Pose since it launched in January of this year. Last week they rolled out the second version with some great updates.
Pose Feed
Pose is a photo-sharing app specifically focused on shopping and fashion. Ever been shopping to find the perfect skirt, or so you think, and you wish your friend was there to give you her honest opinion? With Pose you can snap pictures of items while you are shopping, tag them by designer, store and price. From there you can send them to your “friends” on Pose, Twitter, Facebook or through email. It is like your honest girlfriend is sitting in the dressing room with you as she can reply instantly. Creating a new outfit from your wardrobe but not feeing very “social” and just want to see how it looks on? You have the choice of who to share the photo with before uploading it each time on Pose. It’s a great way to archive items you see while shopping having you ask yourself the hard question of “do I really need another black dress?”
There are numerous streams within the app. Besides your own stream, there are popular poses so you can see what’s trending, featured poses that are picked for you based on your likes, and posers which are a select group of tastemakers. When you take a picture and tag it at a store, the app will geo-tag it and link to the store’s website if available. I can’t wait till you can purchase the item directly through your phone just by clicking on the picture. Maybe in future versions?
